Reason for Rehoming: Unable to cope with behaviour
Introducing Achilles! Achilles is a big boy seeking his forever home (and by big, we mean 53kg big). Achilles came to us due to the previous owners not being able to handle some of his behaviour whilst their family was growing. He is a lovely and sweet boy with people he knows, and most strangers, but can take a dislike to certain people, particularly men. For this reason he is muzzle trained. Like most shepherds, he can be guarded and protective of his house and his owners. Achilles would benefit from owners who have shepherd or high energy/intelligence breed experience. He is super smart and loves to learn new tricks along side his owner. He also loves to play games and is particularly fond of his favourite ball. In the right home, Achilles will make the most loving, fun, and loyal companion.
Achilles has lived with children before, but because of his size and boisterous nature we advise he only be rehomed with adults. Achilles can get along with other dogs too, but needs slow careful introduction with some. Or he could settle as an only dog. His recall isn’t great so his future owners would have to be continue his training, and to find adequate enclosed areas to exercise him in the meantime. Achilles is very overweight and will need owners that are willing to continue his diet.
