Success Stories
We have a successfully rehomed a huge amount of animals over the years. We couldn't possibly tell you about them all, but here are some of our more recent success stories.
We have 2 dogs adopted from MSPCA...
WILBUR, our golden Labrador we adopted in 2002. He celebrated his 17th birthday in July this year. he is the best dog in the world. Loving, faithful, great natured , loves everyone, he truly is our best friend.BRUNO, our black Labrador cross, we adopted him in 2005, he is one of Gemma's puppies and was born at the MSPCA. He is also a great boy, a big baby who loves cuddles, walks and chasing a ball. He is a great help to Wilbur and looks after him.
We are massive supporters of the MSPCA, we believe you provide a vital service to our community.
The Klein Family
Kaiser and Bonnie (aka Penny) came to live with us in October last year. They are a joy and this is now 'their' sofa
apparently!! They love walks where they can run free and are quite bonkers for tennis balls! They have had their 1st holiday in England with us and were on their best behaviour everywhere we went. Thanks to all at the MSPCA they have completed our family.
The Halstein Family
Holly Dog, known as HD to her adoring owners, has landed on her paws and is a much loved and pampered family pet. Her dad, a police officer, didn't realise when he was sent to take her photograph that his life would change but as soon as Holly fluttered her chocolate brown eyes at him he was her slave and, two years later, he and the rest of the family love Holly dearly.

This is Tammy sun bathing with her best friend Jasper. Both are from the MSPCA. We got
Tammy in Feb this year after she had been there for two years. She was very well looked after by all the staff and helpers. Without them and all their hard work this island would be lost!! Thank god we have you (ManxSPCA). Tammy had a couple of issues i.e couldnt walk her along the main roads as she was so stressed by cars. We brought a dog trainer into ours and Tammy's life to help with this. She is amazing now with all the help. You have to see to believe it! Tammy is a real daddy's girl and is so happy and content. Thank you to the ManxSPCA for allowing us to have Tammy in our life.

Oscar was an elderly canine gentleman when he came to us and for a while it looked as if he was going to stay with us for the rest of his life until, again, the magic happened and Oscar is now in possession of his own sofa and adoring owners. Oscar's favourite pastime is keeping the sofa warm until the lead appears or he sees a cat in the garden. His family, friends and admirers cannot imagine life without him – and the clouds of dog hair, and the loving slobber. His dad describes him as a mature cheese or a fine wine – special and aromatic!
---
Tinker didn’t have the best start in life but he has now made up for this! He’s intelligent and mischievous and believes that life is about having fun. He brings sunshine into his family’s life even on the dullest of days. He is also the only dog we know who sends e-mails!
---
Billy went to his new home in October 2011 when he was 13 years old. He and his family knew they were right for each other as soon as they met. He lives with his 13 year old feline friend Douglas and sister Faith the Rottweiler. Both boys sleep, frolic like kittens then purr the night away on the nearest lap! Billy has enriched many lives!
---
Max is a cucumber-loving guinea pig who, since he saw Calendar Girls, has had an urge to be a calendar boy! He lives in a box on wheels near the fridge so he can shout if anyone forgets to give him his favourite treat! He loves having stories read to him and is an educated boy who pays visits to his owner's school.
---
It was love at first sight for Barney's owners when they saw him on the ManxSPCA website but Barney wasn't a pushover! He made them wait to win his affection and devotion but how he's made up for it since. Barney might be a mature gentleman but he's certainly taught his novice housekeepers some new tricks!
---
Bailey's owners just went to Ard Jerkyll for a look – and fell in love – it happens! He is the most loveable and affectionate dog who loves to play with his 4 year old human sister, Aalin, and one of his hobbies is collecting stones on the beach, nearly as big as his head but not bigger than his smile.
---
Oscar – what can we say? He is such a beautiful boy who copes with his health problems and doesn't let the fact that he has impaired vision stop him romping around the stable yard with his doggy friends. He is a very special dog who has found his very special family. Oscar likes to announce his arrival with loud barks trying to disguise the fact that he's a big softie!
---
Sally is a bossy boots Jack Russell who tries to talk to her family which includes Reggie and Betty the Staffies as well as assorted lucky creatures adopted by her wonderful owners. Sally's family have no difficulty in interpreting her grunts and growls and follow her instructions when she wants to come and visit her friends at Ard Jerkyll.
---
Jet arrived at Ard Jerkyll a single dog - then there were 10! She and all her puppies found their forever homes but it took a while for her to learn to trust and believe that her humans were not going to let her down. Now she's come out of her shell she can show her loving and playful nature. Greyhounds are 100 mph couch potatoes and, after running madly across open fields chasing her favourite ball or playing with other dogs Jet returns to the sofa which she thinks – rightly – belongs to her. By the way, the secret of her shiny coat is her favourite treat – tinned sardines in oil!
---
Lovely Louie is such a handsome lad. He and his mum found each other when they both needed a friend. – Louie was looking for his forever home and Angie was heartbroken after losing her best friend Georgie, who was also a member of the Ard Jerkyll family. Louie is a sweetheart who charms everyone who meets him and his loving family cannot imagine life without him.

Jasper was adopted when he was around six months and he didn't enjoy life in kennels at Ard Jerkyll He was so little with a super fast waggly tail and was chosen as a ManxSPCA puppy of the year in 2005 and the certificate and rosette are placed in a frame above his bed. He is big brother to four year old Breesha and he is the perfect pet. He is a ray of sunshine and makes everyone happy when the clouds are grey. :-)
---
Sophie is so special! She had been waiting seven months for someone to come along and give her loving home. In March 2010 she found her forever home and she is such a loving dog who, in spite of her health problems, enjoys life to the full.

Macey's owner says that she is the most fun loving and reliable dog in the world to her owner. She's so special to her family and she is a loyal and gentle giant who looks unusually serious in this photograph!
---
Kelsa was a nervous dog but with hard work from both Kelsa and her new family, she has become the most beautiful dog anyone could ask for. She loves to play and have a cuddle and she is gaining confidence by the day.
---
Lexi is so gentle and lady-like and loves meeting other dogs. She can open every door to every room in her house by standing on her back legs and turning the handles with her paws! She's a wonderful surrogate mum to her other dog but she is also the top dog keeping her family in check.
---
Cher's foster parents gave the following comment for her write up and it says it all! 'Cher is one of the lucky ones – we foster her and we love her dearly'.

Buster loves mud – his family spent three hours getting him ready for this photograph and what happened –mud! Another hour and a half later, here is the beautiful boy!
---
Jasper and his first owner were inseparable and when hos owner could no longer care for him Jasper was heartbroken. When he went to his new home he was nervous and little grumpy but he soon found his paws and a method of getting his own way: stare straight at your owner, open your big brown eyes wide, prick your ears up and wait. Works every time & you don't get in trouble.
---
Star is very special to his family who have had him since 2007. It was love at first sight and he is their first baby. His new human brothers, TJ and Macauley, adore him and he loves long walks and chasing his tennis ball with leaps into the air.
---
Patch look s like everyone's idea of a rescue dog – he's appealing, tugs the heartstrings and would find a meal at any door! Patch is a much-loved pet who, like all ManxSPCA animals, past present and future, deserves the happiness he has found. Thanks to all those who have taken the rescue challenge and won!

To her owners, Gracie is one in a million. When they first saw her beautiful dark gleaming eyes and fluffy husky-like multicolored coat, they knew she was special and that they wouldn't find another bountiful soul like her. She has settled into her forever home as if she had lived there since she was a puppy. With so much love and affection to give to each new person she meets, her family are sure they were meant to be together and are grateful to the ManxSPCA for helping them to find each other.
There are so many stories with happy endings but without the ManxSPCA these stories could not be told. If we fail, the animals suffer so please be a friend to Mann's best friends. Help us to help them by volunteering, raising money, making a donation or leaving a legacy. Come and talk to us- we would love to hear your stories and ideas.
Thanks for reading!
